Before you start

Is it really free, or just a trial?: Transcription, copying and transcript export are included in the permanent Free plan. There is no monthly minute quota. AI-generated notes and chat are separate features with their own plan conditions.
Which files can I transcribe?: MP3, WAV, M4A, WebM, OGG/OGA, FLAC and AAC audio files, up to 2 GiB and 8 hours per file. Oudden processes one import at a time; add your next file after the current one finishes.
Can I transcribe online without installing anything?: This page introduces the desktop app. Download Oudden and import your recording there. Once installed and set up, the same app is ready for your next file, with local transcription.
How long does transcription take?: It depends on the recording length and your computer. There is no audio upload or remote processing queue. Oudden prepares the file and recognizes the speech locally; the transcript appears when processing finishes.
Can I choose the language?: Yes. Oudden can detect the language automatically, or you can select a supported language in settings. Clear speech and a good recording help produce a better transcript.
