Connect your calendar

Connect Google Calendar or Apple Calendar, open meeting notes and receive reminders.

When to connect a calendar

Connect a calendar to see upcoming meetings on Oudden's home screen and open a note with the event title and attendees already filled in. You can also receive a reminder before the meeting starts.

The calendar is optional. To record a conversation without an event, create a note and start recording.

Connect a calendar

Open the calendar settings from the calendar block on Oudden's home screen. Use the connection options shown there.

Google Calendar

  1. Find Google Calendar and click Connect.
  2. In the browser, choose the Google account whose meetings you want to see and complete the access request.
  3. Return to Oudden and wait for the connected status and account to appear.
  4. Return to the home screen and check the upcoming meetings.

If a connected account needs authorisation again, use Reconnect. You do not need to recreate your existing meeting notes.

Apple Calendar on macOS

  1. Find Apple Calendar and click Connect.
  2. Allow calendar access when macOS asks.
  3. Return to Oudden and check the connection status.

This option reads the system calendar, including calendars from accounts already added to it, such as iCloud, Google or Exchange. It does not require a separate sign-in to each provider inside Oudden.

If access was denied or only write access was granted, use the calendar privacy settings in macOS to allow Oudden to read events. Then return to the connection screen and refresh. A device policy may restrict this permission.

Which meetings appear

Oudden shows upcoming meetings, not every item in your calendar. An event needs a scheduled time and at least one other person among its attendees. Ordinary confirmed or tentative meetings can appear; declined invitations, all-day events, focus time, out-of-office blocks and personal reminders do not.

A call link alone is not enough if no other person is listed. A meeting in a room can appear without a call link if it has other attendees.

There is currently no separate control in Oudden's connection screen for selecting individual calendars. Manage connected accounts there; the event rules above determine which meetings appear.

Upcoming meetings

  1. Find the meeting in the calendar block on the home screen.
  2. Open its note. Oudden creates the linked note or reopens the one already prepared for that event.
  3. Add any preparation notes you need. Check the date and attendees using the control below the note title.
  4. Join the call in your usual app, or start the in-person meeting.
  5. Click Record meeting in the note when you want recording to begin.

Preparing or opening a calendar note does not start recording. Existing notes remain accessible in your notes after an event leaves the upcoming list.

Reminders

In settings → PreferencesNotifications, enable Allow notifications and Calendar reminders. While Oudden is running, it can show a reminder a minute before an eligible meeting starts.

Click Open note in the reminder to open the meeting note. This does not join the call or switch on recording. Meeting detection is a separate notification setting; see meeting recording settings.

Disconnect a calendar

For Google Calendar, open the connection settings and use Disconnect next to the account you want to remove. Confirm the action. Upcoming meetings from that connection stop appearing; existing notes remain.

Apple Calendar access is managed by macOS. To revoke it, turn off Oudden's calendar permission in system privacy settings. If you have also connected Google Calendar directly, that connection is managed separately.

If an event is missing

  1. Check the connected account and its status. Reconnect if requested.
  2. Check that the event has not ended, is not all-day or declined, and has at least one other person as an attendee.
  3. Refresh the calendar block on the home screen. If you recently changed an event, allow the connected calendar to sync.
  4. For Apple Calendar, check system permission. For Google Calendar, check the connection and whether you selected the intended account.

If there are no suitable events, the upcoming list can be empty even when the connection works. You can still create a note and record manually. For a connection error that persists after retrying, contact support.
